Synopsis
Bail Bond Junction is a TV documentary series that focuses on the lives and stories of criminal defendants as they maneuver their way through the bail bond system. Filmed in New York with a docu-reality style, with the bail bond office as “central station,” we will follow as our chosen characters interact with their close family and friends, their bail bondsman and the bounty hunters who are often called on to track down violators and forcibly transport them back into custody. Each episode will provide us with an intimate look at lives on the edge, in the only country in the world where crime and financial assurances collide, often with dramatic and tragic results.
Bail Bond Junction is inspired by, and based on, the award winning photographs of Clara Vannucci, an Italian photographer. Her photos of criminal defendants, bondsmen and bounty hunters in New York and Baltimore have been featured twice in the New York Times and most recently in the book: Bail Bond (Fabrica, 2014).
