Dadalove

The documentary is about a very particular theater company located in Palermo. It is the company of the DaDaDaùn Alchemical Theaters, or a company formed by the artistic duo Luigi Di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi, Sicilian directors of both theater and opera, where the actors all have Down syndrome. Founded about ten years ago, this company has participated in many festivals and won many awards thanks to the always original staged texts written specifically for these somewhat particular actors. The rehearsals and evolutions of a new show they are preparing will be followed. “We know where we are starting from but we never know where we will arrive” says Ugo talking about how their method is to involve the children not only as actors but also as authors. We are sure that these guys will give moments of great involvement and emotion, with their purity, their sympathy, the passion they put on the stage, where they are finally free to express themselves with joy and transport, demonstrating how even being born with this syndrome, yes they can make great dreams come true and even make those who don’t have this syndrome dream.
